Historical Overview

In 1973, under the administration of President Fred C. Davison, a group of dedicated alumni founded The Presidents Club. Membership required a gift in cash, securities or real property totaling $10,000 or a deferred or planned gift of $25,000. Founding Presidents Club membership was closed in 1993.

In 1994, under the administration of President Charles B. Knapp, the Presidents Club membership guidelines were modified to recognize donors of annual gifts of $1,000 or more which may be unrestricted or designated by the donor to any academic area, program or affiliated unit.

University of Georgia Partners, initiated in 1999 under the administration of President Michael F. Adams, recognizes the University's needs for both restricted and unrestricted gifts.
